Mahesh Shetty has taken on the role of Head of Revenue – Entertainment at JioStar, marking a new chapter in his distinguished career in the Indian media and entertainment industry. In this strategic leadership position, he will oversee revenue generation for JioStar’s extensive entertainment portfolio, which includes more than 90 television channels and the rapidly expanding OTT platform, JioHotstar. His mandate spans driving growth from the Large Client Universe (LCS), a segment contributing approximately 75% of the platform’s revenue.
Mahesh joined JioStar as Head of Revenue (LCS) – TV & Digital, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening monetisation strategies and building high-impact advertiser partnerships. His elevation to the current role reflects the company’s confidence in his vision and ability to deliver sustained revenue performance in a highly competitive entertainment landscape.
Prior to JioStar, Mahesh served as Head of Network Sales at Viacom18 Media Private Limited, where he led revenue for the network’s TV channels and the OTT platform JioCinema. He also helmed the V18 Live and V18 Consumer Products Licensing divisions. Earlier, at Radio Mirchi, he spent over years in senior leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and Regional Director across multiple geographies, contributing significantly to the brand’s growth and market dominance.
Mahesh’s professional journey began with over a decade at PepsiCo, where he held diverse sales and marketing leadership roles at national and regional levels. An MBA in Marketing from ITM and a BCom from the University of Mumbai, he combines deep industry expertise with a track record of innovation in revenue management. His appointment is expected to further strengthen JioStar’s market leadership in both television and digital entertainment.
