Kapil Sharma has joined Datta Infra as Head of Corporate Affairs, marking a significant new chapter in a career spanning more than 16 years across India’s dynamic renewable energy and infrastructure sectors. Kapil assumed the role in August 2025, where he is expected to spearhead corporate strategy, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory alignment for the company’s fast-growing operations. This new position taps into his deep-rooted experience in business development, policy advocacy, and large-scale project execution across wind, solar, and hybrid energy portfolios.

Prior to joining Datta Infra, Kapil served as Director – Business Development and Regulatory Affairs at Evergreen Renewables, where he played a pivotal role in building an 800+ MWp project pipeline. His strategic oversight in winning hybrid tenders for industry leaders like NTPC and SJVN has established his reputation as a sharp, results-driven leader in India’s clean energy landscape. His earlier contributions at Brookfield Renewable as Manager – BD and Regulatory further solidified his expertise in regulatory approvals, PPA structuring, and transmission arrangements.

Kapil’s professional journey also includes impactful roles at Skeiron Group, Continuum Wind Energy, and Ecoren Energy, where he consistently led regulatory strategy and project approvals, including for marquee developments like the 346 MW wind project in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. From facilitating complex agreements with state nodal agencies and DISCOMs to overseeing key statutory clearances, his comprehensive understanding of India’s energy framework has made him an indispensable figure in renewable project lifecycles.

Starting his career as a Project Engineer at Suzlon Energy, Kapil contributed to the successful commissioning of over 950 MW of wind energy projects and played a key role in enabling power evacuation and PPA finalization across Rajasthan. His academic background and early training with PwC, where he researched wind integration in global markets, laid the foundation for his strategic thinking in energy transition.

With this new appointment, Datta Infra is set to gain not just a regulatory expert, but a seasoned leader who understands the nuances of India’s evolving energy policy, project finance landscape, and cross-functional collaboration. Kapil’s extensive cross-organizational experience and proven record in scaling renewable energy businesses make him well-positioned to drive Datta Infra’s long-term vision and stakeholder impact.
