Irfan Ahmed has been elevated to Deputy General Manager (Projects) at Assystem, based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. With a strong foundation in project portfolio leadership and P&L management, Irfan steps into this role bringing deep expertise in delivering complex, multi-million infrastructure programs with a sharp commercial focus.
Over the past several years, Irfan has built a reputation as a results-driven project leader, combining technical excellence with financial discipline. Prior to his elevation, he served as Principal Project Manager and Senior Project Manager at Assystem, where he held direct accountability for portfolio P&L, cost optimization, and revenue maximization across metro infrastructure projects. Known for revitalizing underperforming portfolios, he implemented cost-benefit restructuring strategies that delivered double-digit margin improvements while maintaining stakeholder confidence and contractual integrity.
Before joining Assystem, Irfan played a key role in India’s High-Speed Rail corridor with Protecon BTG Pvt Ltd, managing project controls and commercial oversight for large-scale railway programs. His earlier leadership journey includes senior project and site leadership roles at GE Vernova and Alstom, where he led turnkey power and hydro projects across India and Malaysia, overseeing EPC execution, outage management, contract negotiations, and full P&L ownership.
With more than a decade of international and domestic experience across metro, rail, hydro, and renewable energy projects, Irfan brings a rare blend of commercial acumen, risk-to-revenue strategy, and execution rigor. In his new capacity at Assystem, he is poised to further strengthen project delivery excellence while driving sustainable growth and profitability across strategic infrastructure portfolios.
