Rachit Garg has been appointed as the General Manager – India Region at Ferring Pharmaceuticals, marking an important milestone in his two-decade-long journey across global healthcare organizations. In his new role, based in Mumbai, Rachit will lead Ferring’s commercial business operations in India and the South Asia cluster countries, while also overseeing the company’s product development center in Hyderabad. His mandate includes driving strategic growth, enhancing market access, and advancing Ferring’s mission of bringing innovative healthcare solutions to patients across the region.
Rachit brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, commercial excellence, and business transformation within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Before joining Ferring, he served as Senior Principal & Lead – Contract Sales & Medical Solutions (CSMS) at IQVIA, where he spearheaded the company’s South Asia operations. At IQVIA, Rachit was instrumental in expanding visibility and business growth for the CSMS vertical, establishing it as a trusted partner for major healthcare clients. His leadership in developing large-scale, compliant growth solutions and end-to-end business models contributed significantly to IQVIA’s success in India’s competitive healthcare market.
Earlier, Rachit spent over 15 years with The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, where he held several senior leadership roles, including Head – Business Strategy & Transformation and Business Unit Leader – Metabolics, Dermatology, and Commercial Excellence. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping strategic initiatives across business development, digital transformation, and licensing, while managing P&L responsibilities for some of Janssen India’s most significant portfolios. His contributions were central to driving over 70% of the company’s topline growth, as well as fostering innovation in learning and commercial excellence.
Rachit began his pharmaceutical career with Pfizer, where he led strategic and business development functions across India and New York. His work included setting in motion major new product development initiatives, long-range forecasting for global markets, and laying the foundation for Pfizer’s outsourcing expansion in India. His early exposure to diverse international markets and cross-functional strategy set the tone for a career defined by visionary leadership and data-driven decision-making.
As he steps into his new role at Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Rachit is poised to leverage his extensive experience to strengthen Ferring’s regional footprint and accelerate its growth trajectory. His appointment underscores Ferring’s commitment to advancing science and innovation in reproductive medicine, maternal health, and gastroenterology while expanding its impact across South Asia.
