Kushagra Jalota elevated to Assistant Vice President at Citi in Pune. In this role, he contributes to the design and deployment of advanced AI solutions, specializing in data science, deep learning, and large language models. His work focuses on building scalable, production-ready AI systems that strengthen Citi’s innovation roadmap and enhance intelligent automation across business units.
Before moving into his AVP role, Kushagra served as a Senior Data Scientist at Citi, where he concentrated on LLM and transformer fine-tuning for enterprise use cases. He leveraged tools such as Gradio, cutting-edge DL architectures, and NLP frameworks to build robust AI models. His work enabled improved decision intelligence and accelerated adoption of generative AI capabilities within the organization.
Kushagra’s journey at Citi began as a Data Scientist, where he developed NLP and deep learning models, along with full-stack ML applications using Flask. He worked with technologies such as PySpark, LangChain, and GenAI frameworks to deliver end-to-end AI solutions. His contributions significantly enhanced the efficiency of data workflows and introduced modern AI tooling into operational pipelines. Prior to that, he served as a Data Management Analyst focusing on AML and KYC, giving him strong exposure to risk, compliance, and regulatory data processes.
He began his career at Tata Consultancy Services as a SAS Developer, where he built scalable data-processing applications and converted codebases from C#, Java, and Perl into SAS. He also gained early engineering experience as a .NET Developer and as an extern at Sopra Steria. Over the years, Kushagra has built a strong foundation across machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and enterprise data systems, now applying that expertise to push the boundaries of generative AI within the financial services sector.
