Dr .Navnath Shinde joined Cohance Lifesciences as Senior General Manager – API R&D, bringing with him more than two decades of distinguished experience in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Research & Development, Analytical Development, and Regulatory Strategy. In his new role, he will lead API innovation initiatives, process development programs, and strategic R&D efforts aimed at strengthening the company’s product pipeline and global regulatory capabilities.
Throughout his career, Dr. Navnath has established himself as a highly accomplished pharmaceutical R&D leader with deep expertise in developing cost-effective, scalable, and non-infringing manufacturing processes for global markets. His extensive experience spans the complete API development lifecycle—from laboratory-scale research and process optimization to commercial manufacturing, technology transfers, impurity profiling, regulatory documentation, and successful support for filings across major regulatory markets including the USFDA, European Union, ANVISA, and other international agencies.
Prior to joining Cohance Lifesciences, Dr. Shinde served as AVP – API R&D at Lewens Labs Pvt Ltd. His professional journey also includes key leadership roles with some of the pharmaceutical industry’s most respected organizations, including Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Piramal Enterprises Limited – Investor Relations, Unichem Laboratories Limited, and Calyx Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Across these assignments, he successfully led cross-functional teams, accelerated new molecule development, drove process improvements, optimized manufacturing costs, strengthened outsourced manufacturing operations, and contributed significantly to global product development programs.
A highly respected scientist and innovator, Dr. Navnath holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and has an impressive portfolio of patents along with more than 35 national and international research publications. Known for his strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and results-oriented approach, he has consistently delivered measurable business impact by aligning scientific innovation with commercial objectives. His appointment marks an important addition to Cohance Lifesciences’ R&D leadership team as the organization continues to expand its capabilities in API development and global pharmaceutical innovation.
