Rahul Shaw has officially joined NDTV to lead its experiential business, marking a bold new chapter in the network’s evolution. With a legacy spanning over 30 years across top media houses such as India Today Group, Star India, Zee Entertainment, Turner International, SET India, NDTV Imagine, INX News, and Bennett Coleman & Co., Shaw brings a rare blend of strategic foresight and on-ground execution in content, monetization, operations, and brand building.

His appointment comes at a time when India’s experience economy is seeing explosive growth — with the live events and experiential segment projected to expand at a 19% CAGR and the organized events sector expected to cross ₹202 billion by 2027. Shaw’s extensive experience in building scalable, culturally relevant media properties puts him in prime position to steer NDTV into this high-growth domain. His mandate? To conceptualize and launch large-scale immersive IPs, penetrate deeper into Bharat through Tier 2 and Tier 3 outreach, and lead the creation of flagship experiences that go beyond content to community and connection.

At India Today Group, Shaw was pivotal in reshaping the organization’s experiential portfolio. As CEO of TV Today Network, he led channels like Aaj Tak, India Today TV, and Good News Today, while also developing iconic on-ground platforms like Sahitya Aaj Tak and The Yo Yo Honey Singh Millionaire Tour. His innovations in virtual advertising and revenue transformation earned him the ENBA CEO of the Year title, solidifying his reputation as a transformative leader.

His return to NDTV—a brand he previously worked with—is a strategic inflection point. NDTV’s vision of blending credible journalism with immersive experiences finds the ideal executor in Shaw. In his own words, “NDTV has always been ahead of the curve. Today’s audience isn’t just watching — they’re participating. And NDTV’s experiential business is where journalism meets engagement in a deeply human way.”

Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief, NDTV, added, “Rahul Shaw’s entry is a massive value-add to the team. His ambition, aggression, and creativity are unmatched, and I believe he will help unlock new potential for NDTV in this fast-scaling vertical.” As the brand moves into a future defined by not just storytelling but story-living, Shaw’s arrival signals more than a leadership change — it heralds a transformation of intent.
