Joel Dsouza has joined Paytm as General Manager – Growth, marking a new chapter in his career as a performance-driven marketing leader with over a decade of experience in retention, CRM, and digital user engagement. Known for his data-led strategies and product-centric marketing mindset, Joel’s entry into Paytm is set to further fuel the fintech giant’s user growth and monetisation ambitions.
Prior to this, Joel served as Associate Director – Marketing at Junglee Games, where he played a pivotal role in scaling the growth engine for Howzat, the company’s flagship real-money gaming platform. Under his leadership, the platform saw significant improvements in ARPU, DACU, and retention through structured CRM, gamification, funnel optimisation, and behavioural triggers. He worked cross-functionally with product, analytics, and design teams to build scalable retention strategies across multiple game formats including Fantasy Cricket, Ludo, and Teen Patti.
Joel’s earlier experience includes a successful stint at Games24x7, where he led My11Circle’s retention marketing strategy. His approach of combining data science with lifecycle marketing helped enhance daily user engagement and reduced churn. Starting from Associate Marketing Manager and rising through the ranks, Joel developed deep expertise in experimentation frameworks, push marketing, and cohort-based communication.
An MBA in Marketing from Don Bosco Institute of Management, Joel also holds a certification in digital communication from SoftPro Digital Institute. His diverse background—ranging from startups to established gaming brands—equips him with a unique blend of agility and strategic foresight.
In his new role at Paytm, Joel is expected to focus on strengthening user acquisition and retention ecosystems, optimising cross-channel CRM, and leveraging analytics to drive business outcomes at scale. His appointment reflects Paytm’s continued focus on data-first leadership to fuel its next phase of digital growth.
