Dr Prashant Shihora has taken over as General Manager – Works at Farmson Basic Drugs Pvt Ltd, a key milestone in his distinguished career spanning over two decades in pharmaceutical manufacturing and operations. In this new role, effective August 2025, he will be responsible for overseeing multi-plant operations, driving manufacturing excellence, and ensuring regulatory compliance across Farmson’s Vadodara facilities.
Dr Shihora brings with him an impressive career trajectory rooted in technical expertise and leadership in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Having served Farmson for over years in various capacities—including as Works Manager and Senior Manager – Production—he has played a pivotal role in streamlining plant operations, leading regulatory audits, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Before joining Farmson, Dr Shihora gained invaluable experience with PI Industries Ltd as a Senior Research Scientist and Excel Crop Care Ltd in their R&D division. His early career began with hands-on production and research roles at Medinex Laboratories and Natraj Chemicals, where he honed his skills in pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality control.
Academically, Dr Shihora holds a PhD in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, with research focused on bioactive heterocyclic compounds as antimicrobial agents. He also pursued executive education in Interpersonal Effectiveness and Team Building at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), equipping him with a strong blend of technical and managerial capabilities.
With his extensive background in both research and operations, Dr Shihora is well-positioned to lead Farmson’s manufacturing operations into a new phase of growth and innovation. His appointment reflects the company’s continued commitment to excellence, safety, and sustainable production practices.
