Anurag Mishra has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Bimaplan, India’s leading embedded insurance platform. Based in Mumbai, Anurag will lead the company’s mission to expand its market reach, strengthen partnerships across the financial services ecosystem, and drive operational excellence to achieve sustainable profitability. His strategic vision and deep expertise in banking, trade finance, and emerging markets position him to accelerate Bimaplan’s growth trajectory in the competitive insurtech landscape.
Before joining Bimaplan, Anurag had an illustrious 13-year tenure at IFC – International Finance Corporation, where he served as Regional Head – Global Trade, Commodity, and Supply Chain Finance. In this role, he led regional strategies across emerging markets, managed complex trade finance portfolios, and forged innovative financing solutions that bolstered economic development. His work at IFC was instrumental in fostering global trade resilience, particularly in high-growth but challenging markets.
Earlier in his career, Anurag held senior leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank over a span of more than 15 years. Notably, he served as CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal, where he also functioned as Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking and Treasurer. Under his leadership, the bank achieved zero NPAs through disciplined risk management, while he simultaneously cultivated strong relationships with government, regulatory bodies, and diplomatic stakeholders. His earlier role as Director – Corporate & Institutional Banking in India further cemented his reputation for delivering strategic growth and robust governance.
With three decades of leadership experience across banking, finance, and trade, Anurag brings a unique blend of strategic foresight, risk management acumen, and executional rigor to Bimaplan. His proven ability to lead high-impact transformations, coupled with his strong network across global and domestic financial markets, is expected to position Bimaplan as a market leader in embedded insurance solutions.
