Shashi Shekhar has stepped into a pivotal new role as Senior Manager – Quality Control at Umedica Laboratories Private Limited, further strengthening the company’s commitment to pharmaceutical excellence. Based out of Vapi, Gujarat, he joined the organization in July 2025, bringing with him over a decade of deep expertise in quality systems, regulatory compliance, and analytical processes within leading pharma setups.
Before this appointment, Shashi served as Deputy Manager at Eugia Pharma Specialities Ltd, where he was stationed in Visakhapatnam and played a key role in ensuring GMP compliance and overseeing stability studies. His leadership in implementing quality initiatives and managing cross-functional teams helped drive continuous improvements and audit readiness, making him a critical part of the quality ecosystem there.
Shashi’s longest and most impactful stint was with USV Private Limited, where he spent eight years leading the Stability Section in Quality Control. During his time there, he successfully handled multiple critical inspections, including five USFDA and four MHRA audits. His responsibilities encompassed managing infusion compatibility studies, reconstitution studies, and in-use stability assessments, all vital to product lifecycle and regulatory assurance.
Earlier in his career, he also held a foundational role as Quality Control Officer at Unichem Laboratories Limited in Baddi, where he developed a strong grounding in GMP practices and analytical procedures. This early experience laid the groundwork for his robust career trajectory in the pharmaceutical quality domain.
With Umedica Laboratories scaling its global manufacturing capabilities, Shashi’s appointment signals a strategic move to enhance quality operations and regulatory preparedness. His proven track record in people management, audit handling, and operational excellence is set to contribute significantly to Umedica’s quality benchmarks and customer trust globally.
