Akshay Nadgir has been appointed as General Manager – Manufacturing Engineering Lightweighting at Sharda Motor Industries Ltd, marking a significant milestone in his 17+ year career across automotive engineering, program management, CAPEX, plant infrastructure, and industrialization. In his new role, he will focus on manufacturing engineering and lightweighting initiatives, driving innovation, operational excellence, and successful execution of complex automotive programs from concept through production.
Prior to joining Sharda Motor Industries, Akshay served as Senior Project Manager at Fleetguard Filters Pvt. Ltd., following an extensive leadership tenure at Gestamp, where he held roles including Head of Department and Group Lead – Engineering & Program Management. At Gestamp, he developed strong expertise in engineering leadership, product management, project planning, and cross-functional program execution, contributing to complex automotive projects and industrialization initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Akshay held Program Management roles at Magna Cosma and Faurecia, where he gained valuable experience in automotive program execution and project leadership. He also spent over eight years with Dana Incorporated as Manager – Program Management / CAPEX, building deep expertise in capital projects, plant infrastructure, engineering execution, and operational improvement.
With more than 17 years of experience across Program Management, Engineering, CAPEX, Plant Infrastructure, and Industrialization, Akshay brings a strong combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and execution-focused leadership to his new role. Passionate about leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects from concept to production, he is committed to driving innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence at Sharda Motor Industries.
