Sugyan Sahoo has been appointed as Deputy General Manager – Projects at JSW Energy Ltd, marking a major milestone in his career spanning over 17 years in the power and energy sector. Based in Mumbai, he will lead strategic project planning, execution, and delivery for large-scale thermal power initiatives, with a strong focus on efficiency, risk mitigation, and timely completion. His leadership will be instrumental in optimizing JSW’s project operations and driving the company’s mission of sustainable and efficient energy generation.
Before joining JSW Energy, Sugyan had a decade-long tenure at Adani Power, where he played a pivotal role in the successful management of mega infrastructure and thermal power projects. As Senior Manager at Mahan Energen Ltd (a subsidiary of Adani Power), he led planning, digital transformation, and project control for key ventures such as the 2×800 MW Mahan Phase-II and the Godda USCTPP projects. His contributions significantly enhanced operational excellence and adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards.
Earlier in his career, Sugyan held leadership positions at BGR Energy Systems, where he oversaw project control for flagship NTPC projects like Solapur STPP and Meja STPP. He also contributed to major assignments at Reliance Energy and ISGEC Heavy Engineering Ltd, where he specialized in project management, central planning, and cross-functional coordination across gas and thermal power projects nationwide.
Known for his deep technical insight and exceptional planning acumen, Sugyan has developed expertise in schedule analysis, WBS management, project implementation, and resource optimization. His experience in managing complex, multi-site projects has made him a trusted leader in India’s power generation ecosystem.
With his appointment, JSW Energy strengthens its leadership bench in project management as it continues to expand its renewable and thermal energy portfolio across India.
