Niraj Solanki has been appointed as Assistant Vice President – Credit Solutions at Aon, a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement, and health solutions. In his new role, Niraj will spearhead Aon’s Credit Solutions practice in India, focusing on delivering comprehensive trade credit, political risk, and structured credit solutions to help clients manage counterparty risks and enhance financial resilience. He will collaborate with corporate clients and financial institutions to design credit risk strategies that align with Aon’s global vision of data-driven risk management and client-centric innovation.
With over a decade of deep domain experience in trade credit insurance, underwriting, and risk analysis, Niraj brings a strong blend of analytical expertise and business acumen to his new role. Prior to joining Aon, he spent more than 10 years at Atradius Trade Credit Insurance, where he held key positions including Key Account & New Business Underwriter, Associate Senior Underwriter, and Risk Underwriter. During his tenure, Niraj successfully managed high-value portfolios across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Maldives, leading risk assessment, policy structuring, and strategic underwriting decisions that strengthened portfolio quality and customer satisfaction.
As Key Account & New Business Underwriter at Atradius, Niraj was instrumental in providing tailored credit coverage solutions, ensuring strategic consistency, and serving as the primary liaison for major accounts. His proactive approach in aligning underwriting strategies with client needs helped mitigate risk while supporting business growth across complex markets. He also played a vital role in implementing machine learning–based automation models (ABRP rules) that optimized underwriting efficiency and decision accuracy — a clear testament to his focus on innovation in financial risk management.
Niraj’s earlier experience as Associate Senior Underwriter and Risk Underwriter saw him lead several critical initiatives, including presenting high-value cases to credit committees, conducting ad-hoc portfolio reviews, and mentoring junior underwriters. His strategic insights, data-driven decision-making, and ability to interpret economic trends across emerging markets positioned him as a key contributor to Atradius’s risk strategy in the Asia-Pacific region.
Starting his career with Acuité Ratings & Research Limited as a Trainee Analyst – Corporate Ratings, Niraj developed a solid foundation in financial analysis, corporate credit evaluation, and rating methodologies. Over the years, his career has evolved from analytical roles to strategic leadership positions — reflecting his strong grasp of both technical and commercial aspects of credit risk.
