Sourya Sidhhartha Dash has been appointed as Senior General Manager – HR at Schneider Electric, marking a major milestone in his distinguished career in human resources and organizational leadership. Based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, he brings over 17 years of strategic HR experience spanning across manufacturing, FMCG, pharma, lighting, and energy sectors. In his new role, Sourya will lead HR strategy, talent management, and culture transformation initiatives, aligning people practices with Schneider Electric’s global sustainability and innovation-driven goals.
Prior to this appointment, Sourya held senior leadership positions at Havells India Ltd, where he served as Associate Vice President and Senior General Manager – HR, driving transformation initiatives across multiple strategic business units, including Lighting, Ecommerce, Enterprise Business, and Modern Retail. He played a pivotal role in leading HR strategy for a workforce of over 2,500 employees and enabling business units generating approximately USD 1 billion in revenue. His leadership in change management and employee engagement significantly strengthened Havells’ organizational capabilities and culture.
Before joining Havells, Sourya had an impactful stint with Philips Lighting (now Signify), where he served as General Manager – HR & Culture for India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. During this tenure, he shaped talent and culture strategies across geographies, drove capability-building programs, and redefined the employee value proposition for the subcontinent. He also led HR transformation initiatives in the Smart Homes business, demonstrating his expertise in managing high-growth and technology-driven environments.
Earlier in his career, he held key HR leadership roles with Sun Pharma, GE, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Spencer’s Retail, where he honed his skills in performance management, change leadership, and talent development. His professional journey reflects a consistent focus on integrating human capital strategy with business transformation, fostering inclusive workplaces, and building future-ready leadership pipelines.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Sourya serves as a Member of the Board of Studies at KIIT School of Management (KSOM), Bhubaneswar, advising on curriculum design and industry alignment. His appointment at Schneider Electric marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, where his deep expertise in people strategy, organizational culture, and change management will contribute to the company’s continued success and growth in India and beyond.
