Sambasiva Rao Gattu has been appointed as the Head IT – CTO, CIO & CDO at Seven Islands Shipping Ltd., a leading player in India’s maritime and shipping sector. In his new leadership role, he is spearheading the company’s digital transformation and IT modernization efforts, aligning advanced technologies with operational excellence across both office and vessel environments. Based in Mumbai, he is driving the organization’s technology vision to enhance efficiency, safety, and data-driven decision-making in maritime operations.
With over two decades of experience in the port, shipping, and logistics industry, Sambasiva brings deep expertise in IT infrastructure, digital transformation, and strategic leadership. Before joining Seven Islands Shipping, he served as Head – IT, Digital Transformation & Smart Ports at JSW Jaigarh Port Ltd, where he was instrumental in building a connected port ecosystem. During his tenure, he implemented smart port technologies, digitized marine operations, and strengthened cybersecurity and compliance frameworks. His leadership contributed significantly to improving port automation, risk management, and business continuity planning.
Earlier, Sambasiva held a key position as Senior Project Manager at Envision Enterprise Solutions, where he managed on-site IT operations for Adani Gangavaram Port. His strategic contributions spanned port logistics, supply chain management, and software integration. Prior to that, he spent nearly nine years with Karaikal Port Pvt. Ltd., where he played a crucial role in digital transformation and application development, implementing in-house systems for fleet, procurement, and HRMS management. His tenure there underscored his strong command over database systems, application development, and marine IT operations.
