Saikumar Balakrishnan has taken on the role of Deputy Vice President at Prudent Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd., strengthening the firm’s Liability and Speciality Lines practice. With over nine years of diverse experience across insurance broking, risk consulting, and financial technology, he brings a refined understanding of complex liability products and client advisory.
Saikumar’s journey with Prudent began in 2024 when he joined as Senior Manager, contributing significantly to client engagement, liability solutions, and consulting across specialised portfolios. His track record in managing high-value corporate accounts, coupled with his ability to simplify risk scenarios, positioned him strongly for this expanded leadership responsibility.
Before Prudent, Saikumar built a strong foundation at Marsh, where he progressed from Assistant Manager to Manager. During his tenure, he advised clients on a wide range of liability insurance solutions, including Directors & Officers Liability, Professional Indemnity, Commercial General Liability, Product Liability, Cyber Risk, Crime Covers, and Global Public Liability, handling both direct placements and reinsurance structures. His work at Marsh also spanned process advisory, risk consulting, and relationship management for marquee clients.
Earlier in his career, Saikumar gained valuable exposure as an Application Consultant at FinIQ Consulting, supporting technology-led solutions for financial institutions. His analytical approach and understanding of product architecture added a unique dimension to his later work in insurance advisory. He also interned with Marsh India during his management program, contributing to efficiency enhancement initiatives and SME-focused workflow improvements.
With his elevation to Deputy Vice President, Saikumar continues to advance his role in driving client-centric solutions, strengthening liability advisory offerings, and contributing to Prudent’s growing influence in the speciality risk domain.
