Farzana Kapadia has been appointed as Assistant Vice President – Leasing at Nexus Select Trust, effective October 2025. With nearly two decades of extensive experience across human resources, organizational development, and retail operations, she transitions into this new leadership role to strengthen the company’s leasing strategy and business development initiatives. In her new position, Farzana will spearhead leasing operations across Nexus Select Trust’s retail portfolio, focusing on driving growth, optimizing tenant relationships, and enhancing the overall retail experience within the organization’s expanding asset base.
Before this elevation, Farzana served as Assistant Vice President and Head – Retail HR at The Phoenix Mills Ltd., where she played a pivotal role in shaping HR policies, talent strategies, and workforce engagement across the retail vertical. Her leadership was instrumental in aligning business goals with human capital strategies, fostering employee development, and driving organizational excellence across multiple retail centers under the Phoenix Mills brand.
Farzana’s journey with Nexus Select Trust began much earlier, where she served as General Manager – Human Resources for nearly seven years. During this tenure, she led multiple transformational initiatives, including the Nexus 1.0 project, organizational development programs, and key diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts. She was instrumental in onboarding individuals with disabilities, launching the AARAMYA program to empower women leaders, establishing the Nexus Happiness Index, and ensuring 100% compliance with labor laws and corporate governance principles. Her leadership in HR helped shape Nexus Select Trust into a more inclusive, agile, and people-centric organization.
Prior to her time with Nexus, Farzana held key HR leadership roles at K Raheja Corp, where she served as Senior HR Business Partner for Inorbit Malls. She successfully established the Talent Management Framework, implemented Hi-Potential Talent programs, and introduced innovative reward and recognition initiatives. Her earlier stint at Aequs Limited as Manager – Leadership Hiring saw her play a vital role in strategic recruitment and campus hiring during the company’s expansion phase.
Farzana’s professional foundation was built at Kalpataru Limited, where she worked for over seven years as Corporate Human Resources Manager. She established HR systems from the ground up, implemented L&D frameworks, managed large-scale recruitment drives, and played a key role in launching the company’s retail venture. Her ability to build HR infrastructure, design effective people strategies, and align talent initiatives with business goals has been a defining aspect of her career.
