Nagaraja Malgi has been elevated to the position of Senior General Manager at Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, marking a decade of impactful contributions to the company’s Power Generation Business Unit. Based in Pune, Nagaraja has been a driving force behind strategic sourcing, supply chain management, and the successful implementation of new technology projects, particularly in the electrical and electronics commodities domain.
Over the past 10 years at Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, Nagaraja has advanced through multiple leadership roles, including General Manager and Deputy General Manager, consistently delivering operational excellence and strategic innovation. His initiatives have been instrumental in improving sourcing efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
Among his notable achievements, Nagaraja has received multiple MD Awards for his contributions — including recognition for product development in the Optiprime series of gensets, SCM preparedness for the CPCB IV+ project, and the successful development of controllers and control panels that significantly enhanced order volumes from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). He also earned the Big Enabler Award from the Power Generation BU Head and multiple team recognitions for AMF panel development and procurement efficiency.
Before joining Kirloskar, Nagaraja held key supply chain and procurement positions at John Deere, Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India, and Toyota Kirloskar Motor, gaining diverse experience in global sourcing, vendor management, and production development. He began his professional journey with Hubli Electricity Supply Company Limited (HESCOM), where he contributed to India’s early underground cable deployment projects in Hubli.
A graduate of B. M. S. College of Engineering, Nagaraja is also trained in zero-defect methodology and Lean Six Sigma practices. He continues to be recognized for his analytical problem-solving through the A3 framework and his strategic thinking approach, influenced by his learnings in Strategy and Game Theory from IIM Ahmedabad.
