Debabrat Mishra has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at JSW Infrastructure Limited, one of India’s leading private sector port operators and infrastructure companies. In his new role, Mishra will lead the human resources function of the country’s second-largest private port operator, overseeing talent strategy, workforce development, and organizational transformation across its operations.
With over two decades of leadership experience in the HR domain, Debabrat brings a proven track record of driving strategic people initiatives, workforce optimization, and industrial relations. Before this appointment, he served as Head of Human Resources at JSW Steel Vijayanagar, India’s largest integrated steel plant, where he managed the HR function for an 18 MTPA business unit employing over 30,000 professionals across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
Prior to his tenure at JSW Steel, Debabrat held several key HR leadership roles within the Vedanta Group, serving as CHRO at Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) and Talwandi Sabo Power Limited, and as Location Head HR at Hindustan Zinc Limited. His vast experience spans diverse sectors including steel, power, aluminium, and mining—reflecting a deep understanding of industrial ecosystems and large-scale workforce management.
At JSW Infrastructure, Debabrat Mishra will be responsible for strengthening the company’s people agenda, enhancing employee engagement, and aligning HR strategies with JSW’s ambitious growth plans in logistics, maritime services, and infrastructure expansion. His appointment marks another step forward in JSW Group’s commitment to building future-ready organizations driven by strong leadership and people-centric practices.
