Sumeet Gupte has been appointed General Manager – Operations for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Limited, bringing over eight years of diverse experience in healthcare operations across India and Southeast Asia. In his new role, he will focus on operations management, audit and compliance, resource development, and improving service quality and regional ratings, while managing customer feedback and complaints.
Prior to this, Sumeet served as Business Head – SEA (Southeast Asia) and General Manager – Operations at MediJourn®, where he spearheaded business growth across Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia. He successfully increased revenue by 75%, grew it to INR 3.5 crore in six months, and developed a robust technology infrastructure to streamline company operations, resulting in a 15% reduction in operational costs. He also launched new services for international patients, adding approximately 10% to the topline.
Before MediJourn®, Sumeet was State Operations Head (AP & TS) at Karkinos Healthcare, where he managed projects including two oncology setups with total investments of USD 3.5 million. He drove revenue growth by 83%, delivered P&L for the region, executed community outreach programs screening over 3,000 citizens, and built relationships with multiple super-specialist doctors and general physicians. He also developed allied revenue streams for Women’s Wellness and Diagnostics.
Sumeet’s international experience includes his tenure as Senior Manager – Philippines Operations at NephroPlus, where he oversaw 11 dialysis centers, managing an annual P&L of ~USD 2M and leading cross-cultural teams. He successfully handled acquisitions, transitions, and integrations of new centers while maintaining steady year-on-year growth of 5%.
He has also held multiple leadership roles at NephroPlus in Western India, managing up to 33 dialysis centers across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Goa. Sumeet has consistently driven clinical and patient engagement initiatives, operational efficiencies, and revenue growth across all roles, making him a strong strategic and operational leader in the healthcare sector.
