Shyamala Jayakumar has taken on the role of Head of Talent Management & Solutions at EmbarkGCC, marking an exciting new chapter in her distinguished career in human resources and talent strategy. Based in Bengaluru, Shyamala stepped into the role in July 2025, bringing with her a remarkable track record of building agile, future-ready organizations through her expertise in talent acquisition, business partnering, employee engagement, and change management.

Before joining EmbarkGCC, Shyamala held dual leadership roles at Commonwealth Bank over the past five years. She first served as the Head of Talent Acquisition for CBA India, followed by a transition into the HR Business Partner role for India operations. Her tenure was marked by the creation of inclusive hiring strategies, scalable HR frameworks, and strong stakeholder engagement, significantly contributing to the bank’s people-first culture and strategic workforce expansion.

Shyamala’s career has also included impactful HR leadership positions with top-tier global companies such as AXA, XChanging Technologies (a DXC company), and ANZ Bank. At AXA, she led recruitment operations for India, while at XChanging, she managed HR engagement and operations for a workforce spread across six locations, influencing over 4,000 employees. Her role at ANZ as Head of Recruitment, India, showcased her ability to seamlessly integrate HR practices with business priorities, covering functions across operations, risk, technology, and finance.

With a career spanning over two decades, Shyamala brings deep insight into talent development, HR transformation, and cross-cultural leadership.
