With over 15 years of global experience in energy, water, and infrastructure development, Rajan now plays a pivotal role in shaping JERA’s investment strategies across the full energy value chain — spanning conventional power, renewables, LNG, decarbonization, low carbon fuels (LCF), and zero-emission initiatives.

In his dual leadership capacity, Rajan is responsible for driving business growth and formulating strategic roadmaps across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia. His responsibilities include leading investments in hydrogen, ammonia, solar and wind projects, and expanding JERA’s power generation footprint outside the Americas. This marks a natural progression from his previous role at JERA as Development Director, where he built the company’s global development portfolio and anchored major energy initiatives.

Prior to joining JERA, Rajan served as Head of Business Development at Aljomaih Energy and Water Company, where he successfully led multi-billion-dollar bids and projects across the power, water, and wastewater sectors. His earlier tenures at global conglomerates like Sojitz Corporation, ACCIONA, and Culligan International underscore his deep experience in deal structuring, strategic negotiations, and public-private partnerships across infrastructure and energy verticals.

In addition to his operational responsibilities, Rajan also serves as a Board Director at Najim Cogeneration Power Co. Ltd., reinforcing his leadership credibility at the governance level. His engineering roots and project finance acumen, combined with his boardroom insight, uniquely position him to advance JERA’s ambition of becoming a global leader in clean energy transformation. Rajan’s appointment is a strong testament to JERA’s focus on strategic leadership as it accelerates energy transition efforts worldwide.
