Gurpiar Sibia has been appointed as Expert Partner & India Head – AI Practice at Bain & Company, marking a significant leadership addition to the firm’s expanding AI and digital transformation capabilities in India. In this role, he will lead the AI Practice, helping clients bridge the gap between AI ambition and tangible business ROI. With a strong focus on enterprise AI, cloud, and data-driven transformation, Gurpiar will work closely with organizations to translate innovation into scalable, high-impact outcomes.
Prior to this appointment, Gurpiar held senior leadership roles at Google, where he led the APAC Presales Practice for Cloud Data and AI. He played a key role in driving large, strategic acquisitions across the region, delivering significant business impact through AI- and data-led transformation initiatives. Earlier, as Head of Customer Engineering for Digital Natives & Startups in India, he was instrumental in advancing enterprise AI and GenAI adoption, building specialized teams, and supporting the growth of the startup ecosystem.
Gurpiar’s career also includes over a decade at Cisco, where he served as Head of System Engineering for Enterprise India & SAARC. In this capacity, he led technology sales and engineering for a portfolio of strategic enterprise clients, driving initiatives in infrastructure modernization, multi-cloud adoption, big data, AI/ML, and Industry 4.0. He consistently delivered strong business growth and established himself as a trusted advisor to CxOs on large-scale transformation programs.
He began his career with organizations such as Aricent, Convergys, and HCL Technologies, where he developed a strong foundation in analytics, data engineering, and network technologies. With a proven track record of building data-driven solutions and mentoring high-performing teams, Gurpiar is well-positioned to drive enterprise AI adoption and deliver measurable business value in his new role at Bain & Company.
