Melvin Mathias has taken on the role of Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) at Epsilon Carbon Pvt. Ltd., a pioneering leader in the carbon solutions industry headquartered in Mumbai. With a remarkable career spanning over two decades across global organizations, Melvin brings a wealth of experience in human capital strategy, leadership development, and organizational transformation to his new role.
Prior to joining Epsilon Carbon, Melvin served as Senior Vice President – Human Resources at Yokohama Off-Highway Tires, where he led Corporate HR and global Centres of Excellence across performance and rewards, HRIS, talent management, and learning & development. Over his eight-year tenure, he was instrumental in shaping global HR frameworks, driving people-centric strategies, and aligning human resources with business growth across diverse geographies.
Before his successful stint at Yokohama, Melvin held leadership positions at some of the most respected global organizations. As Vice President – Human Capital & General Affairs at Welspun Corp Ltd., he spearheaded HR initiatives across international locations including the USA, Saudi Arabia, and India, overseeing global workforce planning, policy design, and HRIS implementation. His earlier role as Head of HR – India & Remote Countries at Transocean showcased his ability to manage complex, multinational HR operations across eight countries, emphasizing compliance, workforce planning, and talent retention.
Melvin’s foundational years at the Mahindra Group shaped his expertise in organizational development and cultural transformation. During his eight-year tenure, he led change management interventions, including Mahindra’s renowned “Ingenious” culture initiative and the celebrated “AutoQuotient” campaign that positioned Mahindra as a premier brand for automotive enthusiasts. His contributions to HR innovation and employee engagement at Mahindra continue to be regarded as benchmarks in corporate culture transformation.
