Sumit Sabharwal has been appointed as the Chief Business Officer – India and South Asia at HONO, a leading HR-tech platform known for its AI-driven solutions that empower enterprises and employees across the globe. In this new role, he will be responsible for driving growth strategy, accelerating revenue, and leading market expansion across India and South Asia for the fast-scaling platform.
Sumit brings with him a proven track record of leadership in the HR-tech, BFSI, and digital solutions space. Most recently, he served as Country Leader – India at Deel, where he spearheaded the company’s rapid growth in one of the world’s most dynamic markets. During his tenure, he led a 45% increase in the India team and significantly expanded Deel’s market presence by fostering partnerships and enabling global payroll and HR solutions for Indian businesses.
Earlier, Sumit was the CEO of TeamLease HRtech, where he drove digital revenue and SaaS-based growth strategies. He has also held leadership positions as Chief Sales Officer at Equifax, MD & Country Head – India at Outsourced Client Solutions, and Managing Director & CEO – SAARC at Excelity Global. These roles enabled him to scale organizations, drive multi-fold revenue growth, and establish strong footprints across Asia-Pacific markets.
With over two decades of leadership experience across companies such as Essar, HDFC Bank, Godrej & Boyce, and Magus Dialog, Sumit has consistently delivered on P&L accountability, growth strategy, and market expansion. At HONO, he now takes charge of strengthening the company’s vision of redefining employee experience and enabling digital transformation across enterprises in India and beyond.
