Prior to joining Sumathi Holdings in July 2025, Sumali held several key positions at Axiata Digital Labs, including General Manager – Performance Management & Finance Operations and Assistant General Manager – Finance & Business Controls. At Axiata, he was instrumental in boosting gross profit margins by implementing a KPI-driven culture, automating financial dashboards using Power BI, and driving large-scale cost rationalization strategies. His ability to translate data into action and lead finance transformation projects positioned him as a trusted partner to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Sumali’s career journey spans reputable organizations such as N-able Pvt Ltd and Hemas Holdings PLC, where he held progressive finance leadership roles. At N-able, he oversaw financial operations across Sri Lanka and Singapore, establishing robust forecasting systems and reducing finance costs through effective treasury and risk management. His achievements in setting up international banking facilities and securing multi-million-dollar foreign financing reflect his prowess in navigating complex financial landscapes.
