Shivendra Singh Baghela has joined Zydus Group as EHS Head at the Moraiya Plant in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. With a stellar track record spanning over two decades in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) leadership across top-tier pharmaceutical organizations, Shivendra brings unmatched depth and technical acumen to Zydus’ sustainability and regulatory frameworks. His appointment reinforces the company’s ongoing commitment to industrial safety, compliance, and environmentally responsible operations.
Prior to joining Zydus, Shivendra served as Senior Manager – EHS & Sustainability at Sun Pharmaceuticals, where he led the EHS function at the Panoli and Ankleshwar sites. He has also held leadership roles at Concord Biotech, Otsuka Pharmaceutical, and Symbiotec Pharmalab, where he directed high-impact EHS operations, executed wastewater and hazardous waste treatment initiatives, and liaised extensively with pollution control boards. His experience also includes significant tenures at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, and Dishman Pharma, making him a seasoned professional well-versed in both operational execution and strategic compliance.
Shivendra is not only technically sound but academically accomplished. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Technology from Singhania University and holds an M.Tech in Environmental Engineering, as well as multiple diplomas in Industrial Safety. His expertise spans commissioning and troubleshooting WTP, ETP, RO, and MEE systems, preparing SOPs, regulatory audits, and CAPEX planning. His dedication to continuous learning and innovation reflects his commitment to elevating safety and sustainability standards.
In his new role at Zydus Group, Shivendra is tasked with ensuring end-to-end environmental compliance, enhancing occupational safety, and embedding sustainability into core operational processes at the Moraiya Plant. His appointment is timely as the pharmaceutical industry navigates growing expectations around environmental impact, ESG reporting, and workforce well-being.
