Madhukar Mohite has been appointed as Head of Corporate Banking at First Capital Bank Botswana, reflecting his extensive expertise and proven leadership in business and corporate banking. Based in Gaborone, Botswana, Madhukar now leads the bank’s corporate banking operations, focusing on strategic growth, portfolio quality, and business development. In his new role, he is tasked with achieving top-line and bottom-line targets, managing client relationships, and aligning corporate banking strategies with the bank’s broader objectives.
Before this appointment, Madhukar served as Portfolio Head – Business Banking at IDFC FIRST Bank, where he drove business development, SME lending, and portfolio management for the Mumbai region. He successfully drafted annual business development plans in line with the bank’s strategy, achieving growth targets for both new and existing clients while ensuring robust financial oversight. His leadership contributed significantly to regional performance and client satisfaction.
Earlier in his career, Madhukar held pivotal roles such as Zonal Head – Business Banking at IndusInd Bank and Regional Head – Business Banking at IDFC FIRST Bank, where he built high-performing sales teams, spearheaded SME lending growth, and developed effective go-to-market strategies. He managed portfolios covering working capital, trade finance, foreign exchange, liabilities, and cash management services, ensuring strong portfolio quality and revenue growth.
Madhukar’s professional journey also includes tenures at FirstRand Bank, DBS Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Godrej & Boyce, where he gained expertise in sales management, credit appraisal, risk mitigation, and corporate finance.
